How to Pitch Your Song to Spotify Playlists (Without Buying Fake Promises)
Playlist support can introduce your music to new people. The useful move is to send a clear, honest pitch through the right channel, not to buy a promise that someone cannot keep.
Use the official route for editorial playlists
Spotify for Artists lets you pitch eligible unreleased music after your distributor delivers it. You can pitch one song at a time. Spotify says pitching at least seven days before release also puts the song in your followers' Release Radar. That does not guarantee an editorial playlist spot. Check the current rules in the official guide below.
Describe the actual song
Name its genre, mood and instruments accurately. Explain the story in plain words. A specific line such as 'a late-night soul track about rebuilding trust' tells an editor more than 'the next global hit.' If you have a real promotion plan, describe it briefly. Leave out claims you cannot support.
Treat independent curators separately
A listener-made playlist is not a Spotify editorial playlist. Check who runs it, whether recent tracks fit your sound and how they accept music. Never give a stranger your account password. Be careful with offers that promise a set number of streams or placement before hearing the track.
Build more than one path to discovery
Keep pitching suitable outlets, sharing your music and talking to listeners even if one playlist says no. Radio, press and live performances serve different roles. Our independent radio guide explains another route to new listeners.
