Radio airplay by city / Bakersfield
Bakersfield is the home of the Bakersfield sound in country music. That also means a lot of artists are competing for the same few spots on local radio. Here is how independent artists in Bakersfield, CA can get real airplay.
Radio play in Bakersfield usually comes from college, community and public stations, not big commercial stations. Pick one or two shows that match your genre, pitch the host directly with your song link, a clean edit and a short bio, and follow up once after a week or two. Each play you land is a credit you can use in your next pitch.
